Care by fabric

Whether you are wearing our Everyday Presence pieces for your regular office rhythm or our Premium Ethnic designs for a beautiful sense of occasion, the way you care for your clothes determines how long they will live with you. Handwoven and textured textiles are living art, they breathe, they soften, and they respond to how they are treated.

Wash Care Details

Hand wash and dry clean guidance for your Lavira pieces.

Vasundhara Ikkat Dress in Multicolor by Lavira

Hand Wash Only

Ideal for our Everyday Presence pieces, Khadi, Cotton Dobby, Mangalgiri, and Ikkat.

Your piece is crafted with care, so treat it gently and it will stay with you for years. These fabrics are designed for pure, strong comfort and everyday ease. You may notice them developing a beautifully softer weave and drape with each wash—this is completely normal and part of their unique, natural character.

  • Wash gently: Hand wash separately in cold water with a mild, liquid detergent.
  • Keep it brief: Do not bleach, soak, or wring the fabric.
  • Dry mindfully: Dry in the shade, inside out, to keep the colors true and vibrant.
  • Press with care: Steam or iron on a medium setting.
Lalita Zari Tissue Kurta Set in Red by Lavira

Dry Clean Only

Ideal for our Premium Ethnic pieces, Chanderi, and Zari.

Pure handwoven silks and sheer textiles are made for occasions. They carry a graceful softness and subtle metallic threads that naturally elevate your presence. A little mindful care is all it takes to keep their signature glow intact.

  • Professional care: Dry clean only. Please do not attempt to hand or machine wash.
  • Store safely: Store on a padded hanger in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Mind the details: Avoid direct contact with perfumes and deodorants, as the chemicals can alter the fabric or tarnish the metallic threads.
  • Ironing rules: Iron on a low setting through a protective cotton cloth if needed. Never iron directly on the zari.

Here is everything you need to know to keep your Lavira pieces looking and feeling beautiful for years to come.

Handwoven and textured textiles are living art. They breathe, they soften, and they respond to how they are treated.
